Why the name "Coming In The Clouds"? I will try to make a long story, short. This web site was originally called Acts 4:13 to emphasize the fact that all true Christians are called and enabled by God to make disciples whether or not they are seminary graduates. In the Bible, the book of Acts, chapter 4, verse13 says: "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus." [Acts 4:13] s of January 2007, it was renamed "ComingInTheClouds.org" in an effort to convey the immanency of the return of our blessed King and Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ as mentioned in Mark 13:24-26: "But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory." [Mark 13:24-26] Please don't jump to the conclusion that we think we know when the Lord is going to return. We just believe that His people should always be joyfully looking for His return. Also, in a spiritual sense, when the Lord comes, He will be coming in a time when even the Church is clouded with bad doctrine at every turn [Matthew 2:11, 1Timothy 4:1, 2Timothy 4:3-4]. We are living in such a time as that. There is a dense fog over the Church that is making it very difficult for new Christians to find a good church and to find good teaching. Most Christian churches nowadays have pastors who don't even know the Gospel. They think salvation is something the sinner does... the sinner must "accept" Christ as if God was at the mercy of the sinner. This spiritual fog surrounds present-day Christianity's view of who God is. The sovereign God of the Bible who saves whom He wills when He wills has been replaced by the god of the modern church who saves people through techniques and formulas, rather than by the simple Biblical principle of preaching about sin, judgment and God's wrath. And churches that bother to talk about sin rarely mention anything specific. They apparently don't want to step on anyone's toes. Maybe they need to read Matthew chapter 23. Jesus mentioned a lot of specific things there when he preached about sin. In the process of renaming the website it was also redesigned, with the intention of giving it cleaner and less cluttered look, removing/repairing broken links, and reformatting pages to have a more consistent look from page to page. But in addition to cosmetics, additions have been made to include more audio messages and to offer free materials through the mail to visitors of the website. All our materials are offered free of charge, as the Lord provides, but we humbly and thankfully welcome donations from those who wish to support this ministry. We are NOT a IRS approved non-profit corporation at this time so any gifts to this ministry are NOT tax deductible. The MAIN FOCUS of this website is still to "challenge people to think for themselves about life's most important questions". Unfortunately, in this day and age as well as in times past, most conventional, institutional religious bodies have a very big problem if fishermen come into their midst and just ask a simple question during the sacred sermon, never mind what would happen if the "unlearned and ignorant" laity would dare to be so brazen as to actually challenge the teaching and preaching of the clergy during any forum. Lest we be misunderstood, by challenging institutional churches and their almost sole reliance on seminary graduates, we do not advocate ignorance. There are lots of "Christian" web sites out there whose self-taught authors think they have arrived, when they have yet to figure out they are just repeating bad doctrine from seminary graduates or from biblically unsound authors and teachers, be they book authors, radio preachers, TV evangelists, webmasters, or whatever. We encourage all believers to test the spirits, prove all things, and study to show themselves approved AND to offer correction to us if we have erred. We do not encourage "one man shows" and neither does the Bible. There is much safety in a multitude of counselors and iron sharpens iron. Most, if not all, of the articles and tracts on this web site have been reviewed by someone capable of providing trustworthy feedback. YOUR feedback is very much appreciated also! Please send us an e-mail if you have comments or constructive criticism to share. In Christ's service by His grace alone, Ray Kane |
