DOES YOUR RELIGION SATISFY GOD ???

Maybe your religion satisfies you, but ... DOES IT SATISFY GOD ?

Maybe you think you are not religious or that you do not have a religion. But you do. We all do. We all have ideas about our reason for existence and about what happens when we die. Even those who consider themselves to be atheists have a type of religion - secular humanism. There are serious eternal consequences for those who trust their souls to religions and ideas that do not satisfy the living and true God of the Bible...

Man says: "I am not a sinner."

God says: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." [Romans 3:23]

Man says: "I think I am good enough to go to Heaven."

God says: "All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags." [Isaiah 64:6]

Man says: "I may not be perfect, but I'm not that bad."

God says: "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already" [John 3:18]

Man says: "We are all God's children."

God says: "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." [Matthew 7:22-23]

Man says: "I'll get to Heaven MY way."

Jesus says: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father but by me." [John 14:6]

Man says: "All roads lead to Heaven."

God says: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven [besides Jesus Christ] given among men whereby we must be saved" [Acts 4:12]

Man says: "I believe God loves everybody."

God says: "The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity." [Psalm 5:5] ... "The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth." [Psalm 11:5]

Man says: "I believe people are basically good."

God says: "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one" [Romans 3:10] ... "The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies" [Psalm 58:3] ... "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" [Jeremiah 17:9]

Man says: "A loving God would never send anyone to hell."

God says: "And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him." [Luke 12:4-5] ... "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." [Revelation 20:15] ... "And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night" [Revelation 14:11]

Man says: "I'm not that bad. I never killed anyone. Lots of people are worse than me."

God says: "And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." [Genesis 6:5] ... "Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked" [Revelation 3:17]

Man says: "But I go to church and pray and do good things for people. That should get me to heaven."

God says: "Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." [Mark 7:7] ... "Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye." [Mark 7:13] ... "For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God." [Romans 10:3]

Man says: "God forgives everybody so long as you are sorry about what you do wrong."

God says: "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." [John 3:3]

Man says: "Nobody is going to tell me what to do."

God says: "the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ" [2 Thess. 1:7-9]

Man says: "I don't believe any of this."

God says: "the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire" [Revelation 21:8]

Man says: "That's just your interpretation."

God says: "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." [2 Peter 1:20-21] ... "Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? ..." [Job 40:2] ... "Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth." [John 9:41]

Man says: "The Bible is just a book. It was written by men. It can't be trusted."

God says: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" [2Timothy 3:16] ... "let God be true, but every man a liar" [Romans 3:4] ... "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple" [Psalms 19:7] ... "Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever." [Psalms 119:160]

Man says: "I want my fun now. I'll worry about God later."

God says: "He, that being often reproved [rebuked, warned] hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy." [Proverbs 29:1] ... "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:" [Isaiah 55:6] ... "The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved." [Jeremiah 8:20]

Man says: "Who cares. All my friends will be in hell so it will be a big party."

God says: "The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." [Matthew 13:41-42] ... "And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night... " [Revelation 14:11]

How to avoid God's wrath (eternity in Hell):

You must realize that you are a hell-deserving sinner, and that you cannot possibly do anything at all to rid yourself of your millions of sins. Only God can enable you to realize the truth about your lost spiritual condition. God will not accept good deeds, prayers, religious rituals or any other human effort as payment for sin. From the day that you were born you have continually violated God's commandments - usually without even realizing it. If you die in your sins you will have to spend all eternity in Hell in order to pay for your sins yourself.

Only Jesus Christ could pay the penalty for a person's sins. By dying on the cross and rising from the dead, Jesus was able to pay for the sins of all those individuals whom He came to save:

"I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour" [Isaiah 43:11.] ... "And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world." [1 John 4:14].

Cry out to God to have mercy on your sin-diseased soul today asking Jesus to be YOUR Saviour and LORD:

"God be merciful to me a sinner." [Luke 18:13] ... "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation" [Hebrews 2:3].

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." [Matthew 7:21]

Ask God to give you a new heart, so you will be ready for heaven and so you will want to obey God the way the Bible says we should obey God:

"He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." [Mark 7:6]

"Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them." [Ezekiel 36:25-27]

Without a new heart from God, you will be unable to enter into God's holy presence in heaven and so you will be eternally damned:

"And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." [Revelation 21:27] ... "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." [Revelation 20:15]
