Why Being A Catholic Is NOT A Good Thing

being roman catholic is bad not good

In spite of the fact that the Catholic Church may have told you since birth that they are the one true Church started by Jesus Christ in 33AD, that is most definitely not the case. Their number of members is no proof of authenticity either. There are more Muslims than Catholics so should we therefore believe that Islam is the one true religion? Having said that, here are several signficant reasons why being a Catholic (or Orthodox Christian) is NOT a good thing:

    • Because they lied to you about being the one true Church. They made up a lot of their “history” to justify their many false claims, including this major claim.
    •

    • Because they have a false plan of salvation that is based on Jesus plus sacraments, not Jesus and His merits alone.
    •

    • Because they have totally distorted the Mary of the Bible into a person who has god-like powers. She is not God so she CANNOT hear your prayers or do anything about them. She is in glory with the Lord enjoying eternal fellowship with Him and all departed believers, not sitting somewhere in Heaven trying to process millions of prayers and then forwarding them to Jesus for resolution.
    •

    • Because they invented a place after death called Purgatory that they have used to make money by selling mass cards and masses for the dead. They try to justify Purgatory by pointing to verses in the book of 2 Maccabees, and yet the verses they refer to are not referring to people in Purgatory.
    •

    • Because they collect bones in an attempt to create legitimacy for their religion, claiming that those bones belong to certain biblical persons, when there is yet no way to confirm those claims. In effect, they are saying: “We have So-and-So’s” bones (or remains) so that is evidence that we are the one true Church”.
    •

    • Because they collect and preserve corpses of their man-made (Vatican chosen) Catholic saints, in an effort to create exclusivity for their Church and their religion.
    •

    • Because they don’t even know what idol worship is and they deliberately redefine their idol worshiping activities as “veneration of sacred objects”.
    •

    • Because they don’t realize that only God is to be referred to as “holy Father”, not their popes.
    •

    • Because they teach that their priests can forgive sins, when only God can forgive sins.
    •

    • Because they tell their followers to confess their sins to their priests, when sins should only be confessed to God and to the person sinned against.
    •

    • Because they parade a dead Jesus around on a cross, not realizing that such an act is what ancient warriors would do with the people they conquered and slaughtered as a way of shaming their enemies.
    •

    • Because they display Jesus as a baby in a manger or as a baby in Mary’s lap, which they don’t realize is a carry-over from the worship of ancient mother-child deities.
    •

    • Because they claim they alone offer their members the sin-atoning Eucharist “Jesus in a wafer” that other churches do not have. Therefore you need to rely on the Catholic Church and their exclusive salvific communion wafers if you wish to get to Heaven.
    •

    • Because the more you study the New Testament, the more you realize that many of the teachings of the Catholic Church are not in there. To explain this huge discrepancy, the Catholic Church claims that their teachings and practices come from “oral tradition” which they also call “sacred tradition”. This is a very convenient way of deceiving their members into accepting unbiblical teachings and practices.
    •

    • Because they often respond to people who point out unbiblical Catholic dogma by using deflection, not by honestly and straighforwardly addressing the issues. Their typical method of deflection is to say that they have unity that the many Protestant denominations don’t have. However, unity without truth is nothing to brag about. Mormons and Jehovahs Witnesses have such a kind of unity also.
    •

    • Because HELL is the eternal destination of all those who die trusting in the Catholic religion to get them to heaven. Salvation is in Jesus and His merits alone, not in a church nor in a system of sacrament keeping.

“Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. THIS IS THE STONE which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:10-12
