The Horrors Of Heaven – For Those Who Are Not Fit To Go There

the horrors of heaven afterlife

The concept of Heaven that most people have is that it is a place that has everything they could ever want, everything they could ever dream of, a place where all their lusts can be indulged in for all eternity.  The fact of the matter is that God has revealed to us in the Bible what Heaven is like so it is not left to our wild (and selfish) imaginations.

If you could just get a brief glimpse of Heaven you would most likely be horrified at what you would discover there.  How can that be, you may wonder?  Well, for in just a brief moment in time you would realize how wicked and vile and unfit you are for such a place of absolute holiness and moral purity. You would cry out like the prophet Isaiah:

“Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.” [Isaiah 6:5]

You would see how utterly unfit you are to spend eternity in the presence of the most righteous and holy Being in the entire universe and in the company of His servants whom you mocked or disregarded here on earth.

“They rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” [Revelation 4:8]

You would instantly learn that the Lord of heaven is He whose commandments you repeatedly and callously violated every day of your life.  You would know that the Lord Jesus – whose name you blashphemed every time you used it as a curse word – was the one whose death on the cross meant nothing to you, nothing that had any real effect on how you talked or how you lived.  You would meet this Jesus face to face and He would be your enemy not your friend, since it would be too late for you to repent of your sins and seek mercy from the one and only Savior.  You would become painfully aware of the fact that the Ruler of heaven and earth, the Supreme law maker whose commandments our societies have used to maintain law and order, is the Ruler who you ignored your whole life.  You would have to come to grips with the sobering fact that Heaven is what GOD wants it to be, NOT what YOU want it to be.  It is HE with whom you will have to deal with, and not your ungodly friends.

“All things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” [Hebrews 4:13]

While Hell may be equally horrifying for you, it is the only place you are fit for if you die in your sins.  It is the place you will go, unless God grants you a complete pardon for all your sins and converts you into a person who is fit for heaven, who desires the kind of holiness that makes Heaven what it is.  None of us will ever want to go to the REAL Heaven unless we become saved by the grace of God and have our thinking and our desires changed to match those of God.

“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” [John 3:3]

Friend, if you don’t agree with this view of Heaven, then your are in for the shock of your life when you die because your kind of Heaven simply does not exist.  Heaven does not operate like a chameleon, changing itself to meet the desires of each individual sinner who ever dies.

“I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.   But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” [Luke 12:4-5]

TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION.

GOD COMMANDS US TO REPENT (TURN FROM SIN AND TURN TO CHRIST THE ONLY SAVIOR).

THERE IS STILL TIME TO SEEK THE LORD JESUS.

IF HE DOES NOT BECOME YOUR SAVIOR HE WILL BE YOUR JUDGE.

TRUSTING IN YOUR OWN RELIGION OR IN

YOUR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS IS A SURE ROAD TO HELL.

Christ Died For The Ungodly

by Horatius Bonar

The divine testimony concerning man is, that he is a sinner. God bears witness against him, not for him; and testifies that "there is none righteous, no, not one"; that there is "none that doeth good"; none "that understandeth"; none that even seeks after God, and, still more, none that loves Him (Psa. 14:1-3; Rom. 3:10-12). God speaks of man kindly, but severely; as one yearning over a lost child, yet as one who will make no terms with sin, and will "by no means clear the guilty." <continued>
