How To Become An Outcast In Your Local Church

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine.” (2 Timothy 4:3)

stoning of apostle stephen

This brief treatise is not a formula for causing disunity or a recipe for failure. It is merely a matter of fact, based upon experience. The sad truth of the matter is: if you want to be sold out for the Lord and if you want to live an uncompromising life for God and stand up for biblical truth while all those around you in church stick their heads in the sand, then all you need to do is the following:

  • Question your church leaders about why they do what they do.
  • Challenge fellow churchgoers and the leadership to go with you to share the Gospel on the streets of your local town.
  • Challenge other professing Christians to be holy and to forsake worldliness.
  • Strongly confront sin in specific terms, not just softly or with gross generalizations.
  • Ask your church leaders how a spiritually dead sinner can accept Christ.
  • Insist on the primacy of the Gospel, in particular the doctrines of grace (such as election & predestination).
  • Warn others about the serious problems with modern bible versions.
  • Oppose the adaptation of the unbiblical or heretical books, literature and ideas of the many modern preachers and teachers.
  • Dare to share strongly worded Christian discipleship literature with other members of the congregation.

After you read this article, remind yourself that the apostle Stephen (shown on his knees in the above picture) was stoned by the religious leaders of his day, not by the pagan Romans or by some irreligious group of agnostics or atheists.

“They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.” (John 16:2)
