A Conversation With A Woman Pastor

unscriptural unbiblical female woman pastor church leader conversation

Pastor Susie: Hi, my name is Pastor Susie.

Church Visitor: Oh really?  You’re a pastor?  Are you the husband of one wife?

Pastor Susie: Why do you ask such a silly question? I’m a woman and a woman can’t possibly be the husband of one wife.

Church Visitor: That’s quite correct. However, in order for anyone to be a pastor, the Bible states in 1 Timothy chapter 3 verse 2: “A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife”, and the word “bishop” is synonymous with “church leader”, “church elder” or pastor.

Pastor Susie: That’s just your interpretation.  Anyway, my bible doesn’t say that. I have one of those new “gender-neutral” bibles that is far more seeker-friendly than your old fashioned King James Bible. I got rid of my old fashioned sexist bible a long time ago!

Church Visitor: Oh, I see. So, your favorite bible verse must be Proverbs 12:15: “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes”. Of course your gender-neutral version probably says “The way of a fool is right.”

Pastor Susie: I resent that, even if it does apply to me.  I get around your narrow legalistic view of who can and cannot be a pastor by referring to the bible verse that says “There is neither male nor female.  All are one in Christ.”

Church Visitor: That’s nice.  So I guess you learned in the apostate bible school you attended that you can use bible verses to mean anything you want them to mean and apply them any way you want to apply them.

Pastor Susie:  How did you guess?

“A bishop [church leader] then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach.”
1 Timothy 3:2 (KJV)

Christ Died For The Ungodly

by Horatius Bonar

The divine testimony concerning man is, that he is a sinner. God bears witness against him, not for him; and testifies that "there is none righteous, no, not one"; that there is "none that doeth good"; none "that understandeth"; none that even seeks after God, and, still more, none that loves Him (Psa. 14:1-3; Rom. 3:10-12). God speaks of man kindly, but severely; as one yearning over a lost child, yet as one who will make no terms with sin, and will "by no means clear the guilty." <continued>
