And How It Relates To God’s Requirement To Be Perfect

Based on what the Scriptures reveal concerning God, what is God’s acceptable requirement concerning His commands towards sinners, as concerning salvation?
 
The Lord Jesus Christ commands that you repent and believe the Gospel. What else did Jesus command when asked about eternal life? He also stated to sell all that you have and follow Him, and in Matthew 5:28, it states: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect”. Yes, the Perfect God requires absolute perfection. Therefore, any actions, such as believe, accept, repent, confess, come, love, trust, etc., must be perfect. What God requires is absolute perfection in every and all aspects, which is what God supplies in Christ, “as He is so are we” 1st John 4:17 – ‭”Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.‭”
 
How is this atonement, and substituted life and death applied to those God has chosen? It is applied the same way it was applied to John the Baptist. In accordance with Romans 1:16 – “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.‭” John the Baptist at approximately 6 months from conception leaped for joy and was filled with the Holy Spirit from his mother’s womb. This all took place when Mary relayed to her cousin Elizabeth, (who was six month pregnant with baby John in her womb), the Good News Gospel which the angel had proclaimed to her.
 
Does the believer believe, accept, repent, come, trust, love, confess. plead, etc.? Yes, but this is the work of God as a result of the Sovereign God’s work in us and for us, as He opens our spiritual ears to hear the Good News Gospel.
 
Therefore, the Good News Gospel is never something a sinner has to DO in and of himself in order to be saved. It is always a description of something Christ has DONE for us, to enable us to be saved:
 
“For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.‭” ‭1 Corinthians 2:2.
 
To mention that someone needs to: believe, repent, accept, come, trust, love, confess, plead, etc. in order to be saved is promoting a boastful, prideful works salvation which is no salvation at all. It is putting the cart before the horse. To suggest that man can assist or do something in order to inherit eternal life is the opposite of Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:‭ Not of works, lest any man should boast.‭”
