Reasons Why I Can’t Share The Gospel

“When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.” [Ezekiel 33:8]

Christians seem to have all sorts of reasons as to why they can’t share the Gospel, even Christians who have been blessed with great health and significant material prosperity compared to people of a hundred years ago and compared to people in other countries.  Let’s take a look at those reasons and see if they apply to ourselves.

1. I’m too busy.

2. I don’t have the gift of evangelism.

3. That’s my pastor’s job.

4. I don’t know the bible well enough.

5. I might lose my job.

6. I might lose customers from my business.

7. My spouse gives me a hard time about it.

8. I want people to see how I live my life first.

9. I have too many chores to do.

10. I don’t want to alienate people.

11. I only share my faith with people who ask me about it.

12. I’m afraid that people won’t like me.

13. I could lose my friends.

14. I don’t feel led to do that.  I just leave it to those who feel led.

If you are truly saved by the grace of God and by the precious blood of Christ, then you OWE it to your Savior to tell the whole world about Him and to OBEY His commands to warn the lost to flee the wrath to come.  If you have no BURDEN for the souls of others, then perhaps your own soul is in serious jeopardy.  If you have no desire to tell others what a tremendous thing the Lord has done for you by dying on the cross for your sins, then perhaps you are still dead in your trespasses and sins, waiting to be cast into the Lake of Fire on Judgment Day.

“Whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” [Matthew 10:33]
