An Imaginary Place Called Purgatory

Millions of sincere Catholics have been taught to believe in an imaginary place called Purgatory…

Yes, millions of Catholics believe in some non-existant place after death, a place their church calls Purgatory.

Are YOU one of them?

“Who am I to make such a bold claim?” you may ask, to say that so many people believe in a make-believe place – a “land of make believe”.  I am someone who does his homework and who, by God’s grace, was brought out of that false church with its false gospel of salvation by works, including the manmade doctrine of spending time “burning off one’s sins” in a nonexistent place called Purgatory.  But why would the Catholic leadership make up such a story?  Because they CHARGE their followers MONEY to pray their dead relatives out of that IMAGINARY place.  And we all know you can’t pray someone out of HELL, so you make up a place that you CAN (supposedly) pray someone out of.   Of course if that place does not exist and if the Catholics who died were lied to about how to obtain eternal life and subsequently died in their sins, well then those people you are paying your dear “priest” to say masses for are in HELL and stuck there – and no amount of money or prayers is going to make one bit of difference.  You can give your last dollar to your local priest and he can pray on his knees until his kneecaps give out, but it won’t do any good.

Jesus said that unless you are “Born Again” you WILL NOT SEE the kingdom of heaven.  And that means you WILL SEE the kingdom of HELL… forever.  And the Catholic leadership lie about being born again also.  They say a person is “Born Again” when the priest sprinkles water on you at your baptism (a.k.a. christening).  Unfortunately, that is not true.   A person is only “Born Again” when God takes out their heart of stone and gives them a heart of flesh, that is, He supernaturally converts them… meaning, true salvation is a gift from God, involving an act of God.  It is not a gift from any priest or pope, nor does it come about through the act of a priest or pope or through something that you (as a lost sinner) DO or even attempt to DO.

Why Purgatory CANNOT possibly exist:

There is absolutely no way that Purgatory can exist, because if it existed then there would be no need for Jesus Christ to die on the cross.  That supreme sacrifice on the part of the Son of God would have been an enormous waste of time, a tragic and unnecessary death… if, as the Catholic Church claims, you can get yourself fit for heaven by spending time in a place they call Purgatory (or by doing penance, etc.).   The Bible says that Jesus died as a PERFECT sacrifice, not an imperfect or incomplete sacrifice for sin.   His death was a FULL ransom payment (i.e. paid in full) for ALL the sins of all the people He came to save.   Are YOU one of those people? How do you know?

There was not a single sin of any of God’s people that was not paid for by the Blood of the Lamb of God.

There is no amount of suffering that you or I could do – in this world or in the next – that would remove a single sin that we have committed.

“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” [James 2:10]

And in Hell, the unsaved will only be heaping more sins upon themselves as they curse God for exercising His just judgment upon them for all eternity.

Hell is for real!

“The smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night.” [Revelation 14:11]

Dear Catholic, stop trusting in Purgatory and the rest of the false system of works and traditions of the Roman Catholic church and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone. “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found. Call ye upon him while he is near.” (Isaiah 55:6). Get a RELIABLE, UNCORRUPTED BIBLE like the King James Bible and start reading it like your eternal soul depended on it. A good place to begin reading is at the beginning – the book of Genesis, or the gospel of John or the book of Romans.
