The Ever-Popular, Highly Unbiblical, Seriously Ineffective, Counter-Productive Clergy-Laity System

Are True Christians Really Supposed To Be And Act Like Groundlings?

 
Oooh, that’s some pretty strong language! Yes indeed! But it will take more than strong language to fix the mess that is called the Bride of Christ in our day.
 

“The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so” – Jeremiah 5:31

 
The modern Christian thinks he or she is doing what he or she is supposed to do every week, by carrying on the same old, monotonous, ineffective, counter-productive, UNBIBLICAL ROUTINE:
 

• Go to church in some special-purpose building.

 

• Sit in the audience with the rest of the crowd.

 

• Watch the pastor and some other select folks put on a show.

 

• Sing the songs they tell you to sing.

 

• Recite the verses they tell you to recite.

 

• Stand up when they say stand.

 

• Sit down when they say sit.

 

• Bow your head when they say bow.

 

• Close your eyes, when they tell you to close them.

 

• Toss some dough into the container when they say its time to pay for the show.

 

• Leave when they tell you that the show is over.

Be sure to be a good robot, a mindless zombie, and just DO WHAT YOU ARE TOLD! GOT THAT MISTER OR MISSES? After all, the guy up front is the paid professional and you are just a *groundling. Do you know what a groundling is? Well, fortunately for us “Christians” in the audience, a quick trip to dictionary.com will inform us of what a groundling is:
 

* Groundling: noun
1. a spectator, reader, or other person of unsophisticated or uncultivated tastes; an uncritical or uncultured person.
2. a member of a theater audience who sits in one of the cheaper seats.

 
Now that you know that you are being treated like (and are in fact acting like) a “groundling” when you attend your weekly Sunday church meetings, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? Get off the ground and act like a true Christian with the power of God in his or her soul, utilizing the gifts and abilities God has given you… OR… continue to be a pew-potato and vegetate “in place” once a week? They sure won’t let you use your gifts at the local religious “theatre” you’ve been going to, unless of course you have the gift of “ushering” or some other magnificent sought-after talent in the clergy-laity theatrical system. The Bible says “Ye shall know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:16). If you are CONTENT with this IMITATION brand of Christianity, do you realize that YOU may not even have the fruits and marks of a genuine, twice-born believer in Christ? DO you realize that you could be a false convert? I do realize that finding other true Christians who wish to worship God in spirit and in truth – outside of this clergy system – is a monumental task in most modern societies, except perhaps in countries where the church has been driven “underground” by a repressive government. And in time, those conditions may become more prevalent around the world, which could be a good thing for the true Bride of Christ. Something to think about.
