What’s Wrong With The Church Of Our Day And Age?

what is wrong with America and the Church

What’s the problem with the Church?  Lack of education.  Did you expect that answer?

Home schooling – primarily biblically-based Christian home schooling – is probably the only cure for the decay of our society coupled with biblically-based home churches and sacrificial efforts at evangelism, evangelism that is rooted in Scripture, that challenges the unsaved with the Law of God, a measuring rod that shows that none of us measure up to the standards of a thrice-holy God. Which is why we all need a savior, the only true savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Christians just don’t seem to know how to be Christians anymore. They don’t seem able to figure out that all the answers they need for dealing with life’s problems are in the Bible. And those that do know, don’t seem to know how to get the answers out of the Bible. I believe the reason for that is that we have an institutional church patterned after the public school system. The institutional church is wrong about most things that really matter – just like the public school system. And just like the public school system, the institutional church does not teach its pupils how to think for themselves, or to question what is taught.

How many churches do you know that teach their members what the word “hermeneutics” means? And then teach them how to do it?  Pitifully few, if any.

Many Christians don’t seem to know the biblical patterns for raising children.  They don’t know the biblical patterns for doing church.  They don’t how to study the bible to figure out if they have got their doctrine right and if their teachers are correct about what they are teaching. Ignorance is the problem. Ignorance of history, of the bible, of so many things. Ignorance coupled with apathy. A church that wants to be spoon-fed doctrine, wants all the things that the world wants… entertainment, easy stuff to do, easy stuff to believe, a super-simplified gospel that is not even the real gospel. — RM Kane
