Famous False Christian Teachers & Preachers

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1

Just a word of introduction

Not every doctrine of the false Christian teachers and preachers mentioned here is erroneous or heretical. In fact, most false teachers preach a lot of biblical truth blended in with a lot of false doctrine or they twist scriptures and take them out of context or take verses literally that were meant to be figurative expressions of speech. However, the common errors of these teachers include ecumenism (fellowshipping with with false teachers) and blending psychology with biblical Christianity. Also, many of these teachers are reluctant to speak out against error and against false churches, false preachers and false practices. Other common problems are that the preachers preach a false (synergistic) gospel that gives unsaved man credit for being better than God says he is (and not as spiritually dead as God says he is). In addition, many of these false teachers are afraid to call the Roman Catholic Church a false church that promotes a false, works-based gospel.

The reviews of all these people were done by one man, named John Beardsley whose website “Biblical Discernment Ministries” is no longer active but is accessible by way of the “Internet Archive” (archive.org). The original URL for that ministry was “http://jbeard.users.rapidnet.com/bdm/” so that is the URL you would need to enter in the search box at archive.org if you wish to peruse that archived website.

Conclusion

The conclusion here is simple. Test the spirits, prove all things, and be like the Bereans of Acts chapter 17 verse 11, who didn’t even take the apostle Paul at his word, without first checking the Scriptures. — RM Kane

“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11

Smiley-Face Christianity:
The Gospel For The 21st Century

smiley face Christianity

Modern man wants a modern gospel, a more palatable plan of salvation, one that has a more seeker-friendly message accompanied by a happy-face delivery boy.  And such a gospel – which is no gospel at all – must adhere to certain socially acceptable guidelines to be acceptable to today’s “tolerant” generation, the generation that tolerates anything OTHER THAN biblical truth.  Here are those modern guidelines:

  • Do your best to preach without hurting anyone’s feelings.
  • You must be “doing it wrong” if you upset or offend your listeners.
  • Be sure to present your views as no more valid than anyone else’s.
  • Never tell anyone that their religion or their views about heaven are wrong.
  • You cannot preach about hell… that word must be totally avoided.
  • Do not refer to people as sinners, but simply as fallible human beings.
  • Avoid using the word sin… Call sins “mistakes” instead.
  • Never talk about damnation, only about God’s “unconditional love”.
  • Use a modern bible that has been edited to remove offensive words and doctrines.
  • If you must talk about sin, never use specific examples, just speak in general terms so that no one will think you are talking about them.
  • Never ever call homosexuality a sin.  Instead, say that God loves everyone even though the bible says homosexuality is an abomination to God [Leviticus 20:13] and even though the bible says that God hates the workers of iniquity [Psalm 5:5]

Based upon the above guidelines for modern evangelism, John The Baptist would never have been beheaded if he had not been so “intolerant” about the behavior of others.  He should have just minded his own business.  But instead he had to go out and “judge” others, making himself a “bad example” for witnessing.  The evangelist Stephen would never have been stoned to death if he had not made the Jewish religious leaders so angry by his “mean-spirited” speech about their hypocrisy and sinfulness.  And the apostle Paul would have gotten many more “converts” and a lot less flack if he had only avoided certain subjects (like the exclusiveness of salvation by Jesus Christ).  But he had to be “obnoxious” and tell people the truth.  And of course Jesus Christ destroyed so many people’s “self esteem” by constantly telling them to “go and sin no more”.  If he had only stuck to miracles and healings, he would have been much more “popular” and would never have been crucified.  In fact just about everyone would have liked him… At one point during his ministry the Jews even wanted to make him their king.  But he ended up “upsetting” too many people in high places by violating the evangelism guidelines above.  Perhaps Jesus was not familiar with “friendship” evangelism, where deeds are preferred over creeds.

If you are in a church that uses the “modern” approach to sharing the gospel, run from it as fast as you can and find a church that preaches the whole counsel of God and that loudly and clearly warns the lost to flee the wrath to come.

Happy Easter?

Should Christians Celebrate Easter?

Happy Easter Parody

Did the Lord Jesus Christ – the Son of the living God – leave His throne in heaven, come to earth as the scapegoat for our sins, and allow himself to be beaten and killed so that we could go around celebrating a holiday in honor of a pagan fertility goddess named Eastre?  I don’t think so.  But many professing Christians don’t seem to have a problem with this “holiday”. Some even look at it as an “opportunity” to witness to the lost in their neighborhoods by conducting Easter bonnet contests, Easter egg coloring events and Easter egg hunts. Why stop there? Why not witness to the lost on Halloween by hosting a haunted house in your church basement? Just be sure to give out candy and some gospel tracts. Or host a Ramadan dinner for your Muslim neighbors, followed by a showing of the “Jesus” film while serving dessert. Or how about a pot luck dinner on December 8th for Catholics who want to celebrate Mary’s (the queen of heaven) immaculate conception on that day. Just be sure to have an “altar call” after the meal. Giving out a free set of rosary beads is optional. And let’s not forget the atheists in our community. We can attract them by hosting a birthday party and free cake to honor the evolutionist Charles Darwin and give out “loot bags” filled with evangelistic DVDs and gospel tracts.

As praiseworthy as this idea of using whatever means possible to evangelize people around us may seem, it is not biblical. God wants His people to be his witnesses all the time, on a regular basis, on the highways and byways of life, not just when we can utilize worldly methods to “lure” people to our religious buildings for some kind of staged event.

The name “Easter” has its roots in ancient pagan religions, which is a point on which most if not all scholars of religion agree. This name is never used in the original Greek or Hebrew scriptures, nor is it ever associated with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ anywhere in the Christian Bible.  A Christian scholar named Bede, (672-735 AD) first stated in his book “De Ratione Temporum” that Easter was named after the goddess Eostre (also known as Eastre). Eostre was the Great Mother Goddess of the Saxon people of northern Europe. Similarly, the Teutonic dawn goddess of fertility was known by a variety of names including Austron, Ausos Eostra, Eostre, Eostur, Eastra, Eastur, Ostare, Ostara and Ostern.”  Her name was derived from the ancient word for spring: “eastre.”

Where in the Bible are God’s children encouraged to celebrate pagan holidays? Where in scripture is this practice ever looked upon with anything but condemnation? Doesn’t God command His followers to distinguish between the holy and the profane and doesn’t He warn them against doing the contrary?

“Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.” – Ezekiel 22:26

Do we as Christians really want to be like Cain in Genesis chapter 4, doing things our way rather than God’s way? And expecting God to be pleased with us for worshipping Him the way we want to worship Him rather than the way He wants to be worshipped?

“And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.” – Genesis 4:3-5

Part of our witness to the world around us includes preaching against sin and teaching the people around us about the “unknown God”, the God of the Bible who is unknown to the lost sinners we come into contact with. Do we want to give people the impression that pagan gods are as valid as our God? We are doing that when we act as if pagan holidays and customs are worthy of our participation. And to the atheists, agnostics and others who are familiar with the pagan origins of Easter, we are advertising to them that we are either ignorant of what we are celebrating or we are hypocrites who are aware of the paganism behind the holiday but we just don’t care, so long as it serves our purposes, our end goals.

“Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” – Ephesians 5:11

When we are in a sinful environment for a very long period of time and exposed to specific unbiblical practices over and over again, what can happen to us? We can become desensitized to those sins to the point of not even recognizing them as sins. We may even find ourselves and others in the Church using the Bible to excuse our sin, such as those who quote verses like “One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike” (Romans 14:5). It is a big stretch to go from esteeming one day above another to where you are celebrating pagan holidays and customs. But such is the tendency of fallen mankind, wanting to do what he wants to do and then seeking justification for his rebellion against God and God’s commands. Another passage that people like to use to justify their sin is Romans 6:14 – “ye are not under the law, but under grace“. But we dare not ignore the very next verse in that passage in Romans: “What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid” (Romans 6:15). To the believer, to the person in whom the Spirit of the living God dwells, God’s commands are not supposed to be burdensome. The genuine Christian is supposed to be constantly seeking how to please his or her Lord and Master, searching the scriptures daily to determine “how should we then live” (Ezekiel 33:10).

Which Jesus Do You Believe In?

the catholic jesus is a fake false christ

“Which Jesus do you believe in?” Do you think that is an odd question?  Not really, when you think about how many wild and varied ideas people have about the person of Jesus Christ.

So then, which Jesus do YOU believe in?

  1. The false Jesus who loves everybody or the true Jesus who hates the workers of iniquity and who commands everyone to REPENT? (see Psalm 5:5, 11:5 & Acts 17:30)
  2.

  3. The false Jesus who lets anyone into heaven as long as they are sincere (no matter what they believe) or the true Jesus who will be separating the sheep from the goats on the last day? (see Matthew 25:32)
  4.

  5. The false Jesus who died for everyone or the true Jesus who died to save His people from their sins? (see Matthew 1:21)
  6.

  7. The false Jesus who had an imaginary mother that the Catholic Church refers to as the Queen Of Heaven or the true Jesus who had a real mother named Mary, who had a real husband named Joseph and real children named James, Joses, Juda, and Simon? (see Mark 6:3)
  8.

  9. The false Jesus who does not care how you live or the true Jesus who said his followers must carry their cross daily and lay down their lives for his sake and the kingdom of God’s sake? (see Luke 9:23)
  10.

  11. The false Jesus who needs YOU to accept him or the real Jesus who chooses His sheep? (see John 15:16)
  12.

  13. The false “gentleman” Jesus who wouldn’t force his will on anyone or the true Jesus who saves whom His Father pleases to save and who converts the unwilling and the unable? (see Psalm 65:4 & 110:3, Ephesians 1:4-11)

You may like the false Jesus and you may sincerely believe he exists but that is a lie and you are believing in a non-existent being.  And saying things like: “That is just your opinion. You believe what you want to believe and I’ll believe what I want to believe.” is like running across a busy highway with your eyes closed, while shouting “I think I can make it! I think I can make it!”… followed by a loud “SPLAT” sound as a big truck slams into you.

No amount of “belief”, no matter how sincere, has ever turned a lie into truth.

What so many people, including professing Christians, don’t understand (and are not taught), is that God the Father has the right to choose the Bride for His Son. AND HE HAS, AND HE IS CURRENTLY DOING THAT. It just so happens, that the way He does that is to use His already saved and regenerated children here on earth as evangelists, to preach the Gospel – including the LAW OF GOD (see Romans 3:20) IN CONJUNCTION WITH the power of the Holy Spirit – to convict and convert lost sheep into found sheep… fully regenerated children of God, who will be joining their other brothers and sisters in heaven some day, at the wedding feast of the Lamb of God – the Lord Jesus Christ.

“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” [2 Thessalonians 2:8-12]
