An Invitation To Heaven
An Invitation To Heaven
There will be a wedding in Heaven someday. Will you be there?
When the Lord Jesus Christ walked the earth, He mentioned how entrance into the kingdom of heaven was like being invited to a wedding, as He described here:
“Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden [invited] to the wedding: and they would not come. Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them. But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good [saved sinners – both good and bad in the world’s eyes]: and the wedding was furnished with guests.” (Matthew 22:1-10)
The apostle John described his vision of heaven in the book of Revelation, and towards the end of that vision, he made the same comparison about heaven being compared to wedding feast that Jesus described in Matthew chapter 22, as we see here:
“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God … And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb [Jesus Christ] is come, and his wife [true followers of Jesus Christ] hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.” (Revelation 19:1,6-9)
Please take note of that last statement: “Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb”.
Will YOU be at the marriage supper in Heaven?
Don’t expect to be there if you do not have the proper wedding clothes – the white robes of righteousness that one receives by grace alone from God when He, by the power of the Holy Spirit, makes you spiritually alive and grants you a complete pardon for all your sins through the atoning death of Jesus Christ on your behalf. The guest register for this wedding is called the “Book of Life”. Those whom God saves, have their names written in this book. Is YOUR name in this book? How do you know? Or will you be among these individuals:
“Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15)
“And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night” (Revelation 14:11)
There most surely WILL be a wedding in Heaven someday…
BUT, will YOU be there and how do you know?
Read the Holy Bible, preferably the King James Version, if you want to know more about this God whom you will stand before someday, who knows about every sinful thing you’ve ever done and who does not weigh your good deeds against your bad deeds to determine if you qualify for Heaven. But rather He demands full payment for each and every sin and that payment is the eternal wrath of God. Do you see now why you need a complete pardon, at Christ’s expense, for your sins? Full payment must be made. Since you, unlike Christ, are not eternal God, it will take you all eternity in hell to make full payment. May God have mercy on your soul, before you leave this world – when it will be too late to be saved, and when your fate will be like what is described here in the parable of the man who tried to get into Heaven clothed in his OWN righteousness instead of with the robes of Christ’s PERFECT righteousness:
“Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 22:8-13)
The prophet Isaiah knew about these wedding garments that Jesus spoke of above, as we see here:
“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. (Isaiah 61:10)”
Do YOU possess the wedding garments required for the wedding banquet in Heaven?
Are YOU trusting the salvation of your soul to the Lord Jesus and His merits alone?
“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near” (Isaiah 55:6)
