You Are Without Excuse

You Are Without Excuse

sinners are without excuse before God

Those who deny the existence of God lie to themselves.  They are without excuse…

  • The vastness and complexity and order of the universe and all that is in it, testifies to the incredible power and intelligence of God, that great First Cause, the awesome Creator.
  • The laws of Physics and Chemistry and Mathematics, testify to the handiwork of the great Law-giver.
  • Recorded history in the Bible testifies of the Personal God who humbled Himself and came into this world as a man (God in the flesh), walked this earth and suffered and died for the sins of His people.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” [Psalm 19:1]

“3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: 7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; 8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.” [Psalms 8:3-8]

“6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.” [Psalms 33:6-9]

“21 Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: 23 That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity. 24 Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble. 25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.” [Isaiah 40:21-25]

“12 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. 13 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.” [Jeremiah 10:12-13]

“20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” [Romans 1:20-21]

Many atheists love to ask silly questions to prove they are smarter than the rest of us… that they have thought of questions about God that prove He could not exist.  For example:

  1. Who made God? (God by definition is eternal, so nobody had to make Him.  Atheists don’t like things they can’t understand with their finite minds, so they proudly declare that what they can’t fully understand must not exist – in this case an eternal being not bound by time or space).
  2. Could God create a rock so big that He couldn’t move it? (The answer to that is actually no, since God created the entire universe and He is in complete control of the physical world).

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.” [Psalm 14:1]

Believing in God doesn’t necessarily make your ready for heaven.  You could still die in your sins and end up in hell for all eternity. Are you ready for heaven?

Christ Died For The Ungodly

by Horatius Bonar

The divine testimony concerning man is, that he is a sinner. God bears witness against him, not for him; and testifies that "there is none righteous, no, not one"; that there is "none that doeth good"; none "that understandeth"; none that even seeks after God, and, still more, none that loves Him (Psa. 14:1-3; Rom. 3:10-12). God speaks of man kindly, but severely; as one yearning over a lost child, yet as one who will make no terms with sin, and will "by no means clear the guilty." <continued>
