All About The False Catholic Version Of Mary

A description of how the Catholic Church made a goddess out of a humble woman named Mary, and then denies their worship of her.

The doctrine of the Immaculate Conception claims that Mary was conceived without original sin. However, Scripture presents a different picture.
 
1. Mary Was Born Under Adam’s Fallen Condition
 
The Bible teaches that all humans inherit the consequences of Adam’s sin.
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. Romans 5:12 (KJV)”
Since Mary was a descendant of Adam like all other humans, she would naturally share in this SAME fallen condition.
 
2. Mary Offered the Required Sin Offering After Childbirth
 
According to the Law of Moses, a woman who gave birth was required to offer a sin offering.
Leviticus 12:6–8 (KJV) is a command for postpartum sin offering.
Luke 2:22–24 (KJV) records that Mary and Joseph fulfilled this law.
Mary brought “a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons”, the offering prescribed for purification.
If Mary were completely sinless, there would be no reason for her to participate in a ritual involving a sin offering.
 
3. Mary Called God Her Saviour
 
Mary herself acknowledges her need for salvation.
“My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. Luke 1:46–47 (KJV).”
A person who has never been under sin does not need a Saviour. Mary’s own words indicate she AFFIRMED her need for redemption as a sinner.
 
4. Mary Experienced Death
 
Scripture teaches that death is the consequence of sin.
“For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23a (KJV)”
Mary died like every other human being. This further shows she shared the same fallen condition that affects all humanity.
 
5. “Blessed” Does Not Mean Sinless
 
Catholic arguments often appeal to Mary being called “blessed among women.”
But in Scripture, “blessed” commonly refers to a person whose sins have been forgiven.
“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity. Psalm 32:1–2 (KJV)”
Thus being blessed does not mean being sinless; rather, it often refers to someone who has received God’s grace and forgiveness.
 
6. Christ’s Baptism Is Not Comparable‘
 
Jesus was baptized not because He had sin, but because He was fulfilling the righteousness required under the Law.
“Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Matthew 3:15 (KJV)”
Christ’s baptism was an act of obedience, not repentance. Therefore it cannot be used to argue that Mary’s participation in a sin offering implies sinlessness.
 
7. Christ commanded us to listen to God’s word, not to Mary:
 
“Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. Luke 11:27–28 (KJV)”
The Lord Jesus forbade the adoration / veneration of the woman (Mary) who breast-fed Him, but rather to hear the word of God and keep it – that’s a statement that supports the doctrine of Sola Scriptura.
 
8. God’s family members are those who do God’s will:
 
“Whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother. Mark 3:31–35 (KJV)”
The Lord Jesus openly and blatantly addressed Mary as a sinner at the same level like all other sinners in the crowd! No special attention upon Mary as immaculately conceived or received special favors!
 

How Catholics are deceived into worshiping Mary:

 
As a Catholic, you are taught that Catholics do not worship Mary. You must always say that you are only venerating or honoring her. And you can also claim that the kind of worship you are giving Mary is not sinful because the Catholic Church calls it hyperdulia and that makes it not a sin, by calling it something other than worship of God. So Catholics can relabel SIN with new words, and in that way, they are able to turn SINS into something praiseworthy. Very deceptive, isn’t it?
 

According to Catholic Church logic, the apostles were all apostates:

 
No apostle was ever known to have:
said a single “Hail Mary”,
bowed to a Mary statue,
bowed in front of Mary,
prayed to Mary,
built a shrine to Mary,
or wrote a prayer of adoration to Mary.
 
And they hardly even mentioned her in any of the Gospels. In fact, Mary is not mentioned in any epistles either. Now isn’t that strange if they were “good Catholics”? Those apostles must have been heretics or apostate, right?
 

Conclusion:

 
The Bible presents Mary as:
● A descendant of Adam
● A participant in the purification offering
● Someone who acknowledged God as her Savior
● A human who experienced death
 
These points are consistent with the biblical teaching that all have sinned and need salvation, and they do not support the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception.
 
Mary was greatly favored and blessed, but like every other human being, she was saved by the grace of God through the redemption brought by Jesus Christ. The Bible never teaches that Mary was sinless. Scripture says all have sinned (Romans 3:23) and that none is good but God (Luke 18:19). Mary herself rejoiced in “God my Savior” (Luke 1:47) and offered the sin offering required by the Law (Luke 2:22–24). The Bible repeatedly teaches that Jesus alone is without sin (Hebrews 4:15). Mary was therefore not sinless or “immaculate” as the Catholic Church likes to describe her.
 
Therefore, the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception was a late teaching, defined in 1854 by Pope Pius IX, and is not found in Scripture. The Catholic Church has a different Mary. The Catholic Mary is a virgin forever. The Mary of the Bible produced several children with Joseph. The Mary of the Bible has one title… “the Mother of Jesus”.
 
The Catholic version of Mary has been assigned a bunch of man-made titles including but not limited to:
 
Holy Mother of God,
Holy Virgin of virgins,
Mother of Christ,
Mother of the Church,
Mother of mercy,
Mother of divine grace,
Mother of hope,
Mother most pure,
Mother most chaste,
Mother inviolate,
Mother undefiled,
Mother most amiable,
Mother most admirable,
Mother of good counsel,
Mother of our Creator,
Mother of our Savior,
Virgin most prudent,
Virgin most venerable,
Virgin most renowned,
Virgin most powerful,
Virgin most merciful,
Virgin most faithful.
Perpetual Virgin forever.
Mirror of justice,
Seat of wisdom,
Cause of our joy,
Spiritual vessel,
Vessel of honor,
Singular vessel of devotion,
Mystical rose,
Tower of David,
Tower of ivory,

Refuge of sinners,
Comfort of Migrants,
Comforter of the afflicted,

The above list is undeniable evidence of Catholic Mary worship. Not one of these titles of Catholicism’s “golden calf” version of Mary can be found in the Bible, the Word of God. Making up excuses like “We don’t worship Mary, we only venerate or honor her”, is a very lame attempt to redefine acts of worship as something else, which is a deceptive denial of the truth.
 

QUESTION: Why do Protestants say that Catholics worship Mary as if she was a goddess?

 
ANSWER: Because Catholics show us that Mary is a goddess to them, by:
 
how they describe her,
how they pray to her,
how they make statues of her,
how they bow down to statues of her,
how they build shrines in honor of her,
how they name churches after her,
how they name cemeteries after her,
how they make sacred medals honoring her,
how they have songs of praise to her,
how they have prayers to glorify her,
how they give her goddess titles like queen of heaven and queen of the universe.
 

Why Are There So Many Catholic Marys?

 
In the Catholic Church there is the Virgin of Guadalupe, the Virgin of the Cave, the black Virgin, the Virgin of Mercy, etc. Are we to believe that one deceased Jewish woman has mutated into a thousand different Marys? NO. What we see is a repackaging of ancient pagan goddesses of different cultures to fit into what is best described as “The Cult Of Mary”.
 

Why didn’t Jesus elevate His own mother like Catholics do?

 
Maybe Jesus doesn’t want people to elevate His mother! Afterall he said THIS:
 
“For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.” Matthew 12:50
 
What about YOU? Do you CARE about what Jesus said regarding WHO His MOTHER is? OR are you shaking your fist at Jesus and doing what the church of Rome tells you to do instead?
 

The Second Eve Is NOT Mary:

 
Contrary to Catholic Church claims, Mary is NOT the second eve. Jesus is the 2nd (or last) Adam as stated in 1 Corinthians 15:45 and the Church is the BRIDE of Christ which is also stated in the Bible. Therefore as the BRIDE of Christ the TRUE. Church is the new (or 2nd) Eve. The first EVE was Adam’s BRIDE, not Adam’s MOTHER. Mary is simply a MEMBER of the BRIDE of Christ. And the RCC is NOT the TRUE Church since they have a false works salvation plan.

SO WHY ARE CATHOLICS SO PREOCCUPIED WITH MARY?
