Useless Excuses For Judgment Day

Many people think that they don’t need to worry about the after-life or Judgment Day or eternal punishment in Hell. They think they will be OK with God, no matter what they believe about God and religion – and no matter how they live their lives. Those people will be totally freaked out on Judgment Day and there will be no way of “turning back the clock” as they say. Many people even think their own personal ideas about getting into Heaven will suffice, without spending much if any time in this life to see if God already has something to say about the matter of who gets to spend eternity WITH HIM, in HIS Heaven. Is one of the following excuses, on your list of things to say to God in your defense as to why He should let you into His Heaven?

1. But I was a “good” Catholic (or good Mormon or good whatever)
2. But I was not a bad person. I never killed anyone.
3. But I was no worse than anyone else.
4. But I did lots of good things in my life. That should count for something.
5. But I never hurt anyone intentionally.
6. But I went to church/mass/synagogue/mosque every week and every holy day.
7. But I am sorry for my sins. Can’t I ask for forgiveness now?
8. But nobody ever told me I needed Jesus.
9. But you’re supposed to be a loving God and a loving God would never send anyone to hell.
10. But my religion told me I would get to heaven if I listened to them and did what they told me to do.
11. But I thought those Christians who preached to me were heretics and fanatics.
12. But I was a good parent and a good child to my mother and father.
13. But I gave lots of money to good causes.
14. But I volunteered for various charities.
15. But I spent my life as a priest/pastor/rabbi/imam/etc.
16. But I thought Jesus died for everyone, so I was already guaranteed heaven.
17. But I thought I did more good deeds than bad deeds.
18. But my evolution teachers said God didn’t exist.
19. But my parents said that the Bible was just a bunch of fairy tales.
20. But I didn’t think YOU (God) existed with the world being such a sinful mess.
21. But I wasn’t expecting to die so soon.
22. But I am ready to trust in Jesus now.

What’s YOUR excuse going to be on Judgment Day?

“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” Romans 1:20

 
Are you trusting SOLELY in the Lord Jesus Christ and His blood-bought salvation to get you into Heaven? I certainly hope so, since there is no other way for hell-deserving sinners – like you and me – to be made “fit” to spend eternity with a very holy God. God tells us all about Himself and His plan of salvation in the Holy Bible. I urge you to read the Bible for yourself, asking God to show you the truth about how holy HE is and how sinful YOU are… and how that situation can only be remedied by trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ as your sin-bearer, to save you from eternal damnation in Hell.— RM Kane
